    Alias is back!
Okay, so I'm not even sure if anyone reads this anymore, but I am going to update it once in a while anyway. This post will be about Alias, which had its long-awaited season 4 premiere last night. Add about 50 plotlines going on at once to the fact that I only started watching it in the middle of last season and you have one confused Amanda. But it was so good anyway. Vaughn is hot, Sydney is amazing, and Marshall...well, Marshall is so unintentionally funny and adorable in a geeky way. Here is a list of my top three favorite lines of the night:

3.) When Weiss is at Syndey's apartment and opens the door to find Nadia standing there: "Hi, I'm Weiss, I'm single and 38."

2.) When Marshall is taken to the secret APO headquarters with a firing-squad-like black bag on his head, it is taken off, and he sees Sydney, Vaughn, Jack, and Dixon standing there: "Am I dead?"

And the best line of the night, which made me laugh so incredibly hard out loud:

1.) When Marshall finally notices former (and possibly still) bad guy Sloane standing in the secret headquarters, he leans in close to Syndey and whispers: "Uh, Sydney, Sloooane is here."

You probably had to be watching it to find it so amusing though, because it was the WAY he said it, and not the actual line, that made it so funny. Oh well, I liked it.

Oh, the wise words of the WB
Really. Yes, the WB can be quite cheesy and high-schoolish. But on last night's episode of "Charmed," a character spoke eloquently and knowingly about death. He was, after all, the Angel of Death. Just read the quote and you'll understand why I felt the need to post this. Through my Death and Immortality class senior year, I really began to think more about death and its impact on our lives, and these lines sum up completely why immortality would not benefit the human race. Though almost everyone would love eternal youth, I don't think anything would ever get done because there would be no pressing need to win that gold medal in the Olympics, to direct that life-changing documentary, to land that human mission on Mars, and on and on. We may never have had the advances we have today if not for the need to do something great with the short time we have on this planet. And I think this quote sums up this view quite nicely.

"We don't get to decide who lives or dies; only circumstances can change someone's fate. Perhaps you think death is pointless. It isn't, you know. Far from it. Life only has meaning specifically because there is an end. Death is what forces people to live, which means that ending death effectively ends life, throws off the entire cosmic design, the whole point, and for what? A single fleeting life?"

A little Moulin Rouge-style cut and paste
These are the moments, these are the times. I’m bigger than my body gives me credit for. Love or something ignites in my veins and I pray it never fades. Might be a quarter-life crisis, which is disturbing in my soul. Look for the girl with the broken smile. Ask her if she wants to stay awhile, and she will be loved. It’s not always rainbows and butterflies; it’s a mad, mad world. A normal life is boring. You can do anything you set your mind to. I’m not gonna stand here and wait. I surrender to the strawberry ice cream. I’m anything but ordinary. I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints. The sinners are much more fun, and only the good die young.

Don’t you forget about me. You don’t know what you got til it’s gone. We were meant to live for so much more. Have we lost ourselves? We want more than this world’s got to offer. I’ll gladly go down in a flame if the flame’s what it takes to remember my name. Something’s gotta go wrong cause I’m feeling way too damn good. I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly. I'll do what it takes til I touch the sky. Make a wish, take a chance, make a change, and break away.

It’s like every time I turn around, I fall in love and find my heart face down. We were meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it, and all of our memories, so close to me, just fade away. All this time you were pretending. So much for my happy ending. There’s no way to know what might have been; life goes on. Love is a battlefield; everybody hurts sometimes. Is it not worth the risk? You’re wrong and I’m strong, unafraid of moving on, cause I’m free to be me. Nobody tells me who to be…little miss innocent. Is this where I’m meant to be?

    Graduation: 3 weeks ago today
Wow, I can't believe I have been a college graduate for three weeks already. But my diploma is sitting on my bookcase, there for everyone to see, so it's definitely a reality. And I'm definitely not living the college life anymore. God, I miss it. It's so hard living at home with my parents and having to tell them when I want to go out and ask to do things and have them always on my case about looking for a job. I miss living in the city. But I have accomplished a lot since I've been home, so that's good. I sorted through all my stuff, threw away all the shit, and organized the rest. I put all my pictures from the last year in an album and rearranged my bookshelves to fit more books on them. I've seen a bunch of my friends (Sara, Becky, Dan, Michelle, Jen C., and Jenny) and been to some of my sister's softball games. I miss all my college friends though. I wonder if anyone even reads this anymore. Anyway, that's it. Krupkoski out.

    12:05 am
I don't want to do this. I don't want to graduate in 11 hours. I don't want it all to be over. I don't want to move home. I don't want to leave my friends. And I don't want to join the real world.

Talk to me in 24 hours and we'll see how I feel then.

    Four years flew like that!
OH-MY-GOD...I am now done with college. I've finished my classes, handed in my papers, presented my projects, and taken my finals. As of 11 AM this morning (actually 10:30 because I finished my final early), I was free...no more pencils, no more books, no more teachers' dirty looks! For real--not just until September. That's a weird concept. I'm going home for the summer, but I won't be back in the fall. I could be anywhere in the fall, or I could still be living at home. I have no more stress regarding classes or internships, although now I need to set my sights on finding a job. And saying goodbye to my friends, including my two junior roommates who leave on Thursday (tear!). And enjoy my last week and a half (including senior week) of being in college in Boston. I always knew this day would come, but I can't believe it's already here. This is worse than leaving high school and my high school friends for college (not to say that I don't have some great friends from high school, because I do and I still keep in touch with a lot of them), but in college, I just got so much closer to my friends because I saw them all the time and lived with them and experienced life with them. I hate change and I am not ready for this to be over. Damn growing up and older! Not that I'll miss the school work--not at all. But I'll miss the conversations at 3 AM, the drunken walks home from the bars, the major procrastination when there is so much work to be done, the Aida dance, the eight-hour shopping sprees, the baking bonanzas, giving tours of COM, but most of all--my friends. I'll miss you all so much, and to you two who have already left, I miss you all the time and I can't wait to see you again real soon. To my Chelmsford friends, I'll be home soon and I hope to see you.

Countdown to the real world: 12 days.

    Back from Spring Break (tear)
    Quotes from Miami

-Megan- “The only difference between making love and sex is music.”

-Michelle (to me, after I tucked a twenty into my bathing suit)- “Today marks the beginning of your career as a stripper.”

-Megan (after observing how short the skirts are in South Beach)- “Our skanky clothes are their church clothes.”

-Megan- “I love how I have so many pictures of you guys sleeping.”
-Michelle- “When did you take them?”
    -Amanda- “When we were sleeping!”

-Kelly- “Apparently we’re getting it on tomorrow…watch out Jeff.” (Jeff was a guy we met who was staying at our hotel.)

-Michelle (talking about the club the night before)- “I probably would have made out with someone if anyone cute had come up to me.”

-Michelle (when talking about avoiding guys at clubs)- “My signal is I always have to pee.”
    -Megan- “I don’t have a signal.”
    -Michelle- “Yeah, me neither.”

-Kelly- “I hope Martha doesn’t go to jail, but if she does her cell will look fucking amazing!”

-(Two trucks pull up bumper to bumper on the beach)
    -Megan- “What are they doing?”
    -Michelle- “They’re kissing!”

    Miami Memories

-Passing a Jeep Wrangler with the license plate JEEPING…what, was PIMPING already taken?

-Going to a fancy mall that only sold designer clothes and seeing Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie on a major shopping spree, with three handlers carrying their bags of goods, probably millions of dollars worth of clothes. They were also being filmed, probably for The Simple Life 2. Their dogs were there too.

-The “Parade of Skirts” as I called it…watching all the girls walk around South Beach in their teeny tiny skirts and skimpy tops. And I thought I had some skanky clothes! I swear I was worse than a guy with the way I was ogling the girls.

-Absolutely LOVING wearing my short, short, khaki pleated skirt…it was HOT!

-Wandering around South Beach for hours looking for a club that both looked good and was cheap to get into. (We didn’t end up going anywhere that night.)

-Waiting more than an hour for a bus…TWICE! (And then breaking down and taking a cab back to the hotel.)

    -Boston clubbing hours- 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
    -Miami clubbing hours- 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.
-Adjusting accordingly by taking naps at eight o’clock at night and catching the bus to South Beach when we would normally be heading home from the clubs in Boston. Going to bed at 6 a.m. and sleeping until 1 p.m. the next day.

    -THE DAMN UNRELIABLE BUS SYSTEM!

-Too many rides offered to us to count…and Megan actually got into one of the cars when she was wasted! Michelle and I had to drag her out.

-Cheers to outdoor clubs with pools, plush comfy furniture, and Irish pubs…three of our favorite places.

-Lots and lots of guys hitting on us, and talking to us, and dancing with us, and partying with us, etc.

-Some amazing restaurants…and some horrible ones.

-The four of us downing a handle of cheap vodka (and some gin too) in under a week.

    -HoJos Dezerland!!!

    It's been a good weekend
I got trashed Friday night but it was a nice equilibrium of tipsy and happy. I was surrounded by friends I haven't seen in a while and the three whom I am going to Miami with next week. Instead of hailing a cab home, four of us decided to walk. It was nice and refreshing, and I felt safe because Kelly's boyfriend was with us. It didn't even seem like that long before I was home. That's when I wrote that livejournal entry. Before I put on my pjs, I decided to crawl into my bed for a minute. Well, of course I fell asleep (thank God I had taken my contacts out beforehand). I woke up at 9:30 AM, changed into my pjs and went to the bathroom. And guess what? I was STILL DRUNK...seven hours later! It was ridiculous but so funny. I went back to bed and woke up two hours later.

Michelle, Alexis, and I were planning on going out to a bar Saturday night. I went over their apartment and Alexis gave me her pointy black boots to wear...they were hot. So at about 11:30 PM, after much boy talk, we were finally ready to leave. We went to White Horse Tavern but Alexis' fake got taken away! And it was her second fake to be taken away in a week! We ended up going back to their apartment (with guys ogling us the entire way back), making mix drinks, ordering pizza, and watching Sex and the City on HBO On Demand. It was fun. I hailed a cab home about 2:30.

Today my parents came into the city to give me my suitcase and some other stuff I need for Miami. Leslie was also in Boston, so I met up with her too. Now I'm watching the Oscars, an assignment for my Film Industry class (but I would have watched it anyway). Billy Crystal is so funny. I remember last year I couldn't watch the Oscars because I was in London. I kept IMing people and asking who was winning. I have homework to do but I doubt that will get done while I am watching TV. Oh well.

    Hello at 2:40 AM
This is my first ever drunk livejournal entry. And you know what? I'm disappointed. It seems no matter how drunk I am I can still type, either because I double-check everything or because I'm just gifted. It would be cool to be messing everything up, but I guess that's just not me. I had a great time tonight. Michelle flew into Boston from DC for the weekend so we partied at her apartment after Shannon's play, which was so messed up by the way. I still can't figure out whether it was a dream or reality. But it was well acted. Anyway, I got to see a bunch of my friends...Michelle, Kelly, Megan, Alexis, Heather, etc. I played beer pong for the first time ever (we lost), and I did a shot of vodka, drank my signature cranberry juice and vodka, and had some beer. It was good to party...I really needed it. And next week I will be partying every day...in Miami. Okay, I'm going to go to bed now. Night night.

    Go Pats!
I am so excited! Two Superbowls in three years, baby! I had so much fun watching the game over at Scott's. There were more than 20 people there watching the game on TVs in two rooms, and lots and lots of beer, but I only had one. I swear I couldn't breathe for the last 15 minutes of the game. There was a point there that I really didn't think we would win. But we did! On the way back to Boston, the exit to Kenmore Square on Storrow Drive was blocked. The police probably wanted to prevent riots like the ones that happened two years ago. All along Storrow Drive people were honking their horns and waving out of their windows. I got a little scared for my life because cars were swerving all over the lanes and people really weren't paying attention to what they were doing. But I got home safe, and I am so tired, so I am going to bed now. Goodnight and congrats to the Pats! I want to go to the victory parade--I think it's on Tuesday--but I'll have to see if it conflicts with my class and Dean's Hosting hours.

    Life is good
So far, my last semester of college has been very good to me. My classes are interesting, Armineh is back from London and our unofficial fifth roommate, and I am not as stressed out as I thought I would be. (Just give me a few weeks!)

I've been applying for internships, and so far I have been asked to two companies. I accepted one, at Allied Advertising, which is one of the only movie promotions companies in Boston. All of the major studios, except Dreamworks, are their clients. I'm going to work Mondays as a general intern, which basically means I do a lot of grunt work, like researching appropriate groups for advance screenings, sending out invitations to movie critics, and the like. But I get free movie passes, and it's a chance for me to see if I would like to pursue a higher position in that field. I also may accept a job at the Connection, which is the quarterly journal of the New England Board of Higher Education. I would be contacting authors, writing short pieces, editing, and doing some layout. And I would work Wednesdays and Fridays. Does this sound like too much? Am I over-exerting myself?

Anyway, I also auditioned for a bunch of plays yesterday. I find out tomorrow morning if I was called back for any of them. I really want a part. I'm desperate for a part--it's my last chance. I also want to see if I can do any more acting for the TV and Film majors.
